Travel Task

In the coming months, you are going to be hearing regularly from the Indigenous Strategy team about the work that’s being done towards achieving the goals set out in the Strategy.

As a company, as practitioners and as individuals, we will work together to achieve these targets, so it’s really important that we not only understand what these goals are, but also that we think about how our own personal vision can impact our success.

At the AILA Festival, the concept of a Country Vision Statement was discussed in the Future session. This session recommended that a first step that everyone can take as individuals is to think about their own personal relationship, goals and purpose for caring for Country and come up with a statement to summarise your Vision.

Over the next two days, we’ll be discussing this together, so while you’re on your way, grab some paper from your studio principal and jot down some thoughts, short sentences or a couple of words about:

• your relationship with your place of home,

• how you can best be in a relationship with or look after Country; or

• your future aspirations for Country

It doesn’t matter where you are on your journey in learning about caring for Country, everyone’s thoughts will feed into Arcadia’s overarching Country Vision.
